I have tried many forms of stress relief and relaxation techniques and I firmly believe that they are an important part of every ones mental health. I, however was a particular fan of the guided relaxation clip (the above link). This says nothing against the clip which was done as well as any other I have heard. I simply prefer to find my own peace. When I relax and meditate I prefer either complete silence or the sounds that exist in nature. I find voices to be disruptive and sound through speakers to be agitating as well. I instead focus on my breathing and hone in on the quiet, almost imperceptible ringing sound that exists in all silence. Doing this clears my mind and relaxes me far more than receiving instructions.
But when it comes to relaxation, to each his own! Perhaps the above link will serve a purpose for you.
Hey Shawn
ReplyDeleteI was really relaxed with this but also had energy when I was done. The ones I like more often are the guided imagery. I love picturing a serene place like walking through the woods or laying on a beach in the hot sun. Sometimes I can even picture smells. It always seems so real and I zone right out. It's almost like I am sleeping but I feel good afterwards. I think with the hustle and bustle in everyones life its nice to stop for even 10 minutes and listen to something like this. Great post
